Rubber Lining Technician – Elko, NV

 

We are seeking a hard-working, self- motivated individual to work in our Rubber Lining Fabrication Group, located in Elko, NV. Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially rubber wear and abrasion products, is a plus. This position requires the preparation of rubber lined applications, and previous experience using the following equipment is preferred: sandblast and grinding equipment, autoclave, hydraulic presses and buffing machines. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and be team oriented.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials
  • Actively promote safety as the company’s number one priority by:
    • Working safely
    • Providing any assistance necessary to ensure your team members work safely as well.
  • Identify and properly use, inspect and maintain personal protective equipment, including but not limited to:       boots, glasses, hardhat, gloves, face shield, goggles, leathers, earplugs
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
  • Support and participate in PDQ (People Determine Quality) Program
  • Be willing and able to work a variety of schedules on-call, including dayshift, nightshift, weekend and holidays, and also be willing to travel and work out of town when necessary
  • Comply with all policies and procedures in Employee Handbook
  • Ability to fully understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to complete time sheets and production reports in a timely fashion
  • Ability and willingness to clearly, effectively and professionally communicate with staff members and suppliers as directed
  • Ability to assist with general mechanic duties as directed
  • Ability to assist with developing and maintaining all equipment maintenance records in an organized manner as directed
  • Ability to assist with equipment maintenance, including washing and cleaning equipment as directed
  • Ability to clean up work area during and after completing jobs and know correct method of disposal of waste as directed
  • Ability to drive a fork-lift, and to learn and implement all safety requirements associated with driving a fork-lift
  • Ability to safely and properly use the following equipment: air compressor, forklift, ladder
  • Ability to use the following lifting equipment: come along, strap, choker, shackle, chain, cable, spreader bar
  • Ability to use heat pressurized autoclave in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Know, understand, and be capable of utilizing emergency response protocol during an accident
  • Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with staff members and customers
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to safely lift 75-100 pounds frequently, using proper lifting techniques
  • Other job duties as assigned by management

 

Qualifications

  • A valid driver’s license is required at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment
  • Experience in manufacturing of rubber wear and abrasion rubber products preferred
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in Autoclave rubber pipe lining
  • Excellent team player with a flexible and open attitude
  • Professional level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand, read, and write the English language.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical and hydraulic equipment
  • Must be physically able to access industrial plant process facilities
  • Intermediate or beginning computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
  • Accept personal responsibility to deliver on commitments
  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding aggressive deadlines in uncertain environments
  • Work independently with little supervision, and be self-motivated to produce the required results with minimal supervision
